Sending PDF files to a PDA

Top  Previous  Next

PDF files created with Win2PDF can be viewed on any type of computer that has a PDF viewer including PalmOS and Pocket PC devices.

The "send to palm" option in the Win2PDF file save dialog launches Acrobat Reader for PalmOS which converts the PDF file to a format that is readable by the PalmOS.  The converted file is automatically downloaded to the Palm when you synchronize.  The location of the converted file is controlled by Acrobat Reader for PalmOS, and the original PDF file remains intact.

Acrobat Reader for the Pocket PC does not have the same synchronization options, but you can easily download PDF files to a Pocket PC device by enabling file synchronization.  This will create a folder on your Windows desktop (e.g. "Pocket_PC My Documents").  To download a PDF file, just save the PDF file to the file synchronization folder and synchronize your Pocket PC.

Acrobat Reader for PalmOS and Pocket PC devices uses "tagged" PDF files so that the files can be reformatted for the smaller screens.  Win2PDF does not support creating "tagged" PDF files, but Acrobat Reader for PalmOS and Pocket PC will automatically convert the PDF files to a tagged format when they are downloaded.
